Things to do with your kids this Half Term!

Updated: May 28, 2020

Summer is definitely over and we had an amazing summer this year! Beautiful weather too! And October is a good time to get away before the winter gloom sets upon us, what better time than when the kids get out of school for half-term? It's that time of the year when schools go on break for one week and boom! You have children looking up to you to make the half term fun!

Wondering what to do with your kids this half term? There are loads of stuff to do with kids! Staying indoors is definitely not an option! You would probably run mad from trying to keep them occupied especially if you have children under 10 years old like I do! I am always excited anytime there is a holiday as I get to spend time with my kids!

The good thing about half term is I get to set the rules! So put away your passport! You don't need to leave the UK to have a holiday in the half term! Here are some ideas on where to visit with your kids during the half term.

1. Paultons Family Theme Park/Peppa Pigs World.

Located in the village of Ower, near Romsey, Hampshire, Paultons Family Theme Park is UK's number one family theme park with over 70 rides and attractions and also home to the World's first Peppa Pig World. There is a lot to see and do! Loads of activities for children of all ages, all set within 140 acres of of beautiful parkland on the egde of the New Forest National Partk! Your kids would definitely not be bored and if you have a 4 year old like me who is mad about Peppa Pig, that is the best place to take her too!

2. Butlins, Bognor Regis

If you love the seaside, Then Butlins in the coastal town of Bognor Regis in West Sussex is the place to visit. Bringing the best of the British seaside, Butlins has a huge variety of fun activities and things for the whole family to do. And the fun part? So much of it's included in the price of your break! You can choose to either stay in the resort or choose to explore the costal town. Whatever you decide to do, Bognor Regis is the perfect choice for a family seaside break in style!

3. Brighton

This has to be one of my favourite holiday destinations in the UK! I am heading there this weekend with my kids for four days! I love the pier and the sights and I am looking forward to taking my kids there (They haven't been to Brighton and I know they are going to love it)! There are lots of amazing sights and places to visit like the Brighton Palace Pier, British Airways i360 Viewing Tower, SEA LIFE Brighton, Globalls and Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf . If you have an artist like my 5 year old daughter who loves drawing and painting, then visit Art Shop And Pottery to tinker around making and painting pottery! And the Brighton Seaside!!!Oh I love the seaside! Well, who doesn’t! Especially when you can get there from London in an hour!

Brighton is a lovely town to visit and there are a lot of affordable hotels located near Brighton Pier and the Beach!

4. Dartmouth

if you would love to take your kids to a town with stunning coastal views and medieval streets, then you should plan to visit Dartmouth in South Devon! You are definitly in for a treat. Visit the Dartmouth Castle, built in the 14th century, it is one of the most beautifully located fortresses in England. And you can walk to Dartmouth Castle from the town or catch a ferry from the quayside, an amazing journey. You can play at the Coronation Park, relax at the Blackpool Sands or hop on a boat and enjoy the 30 minutes ride from Dartmouth up the river to where crime writer Dame Agatha Christie had her holiday home at Greenway! There is so much to do in and around Dartmouth

Or if you would rather have day trips you could visit:

5. Kidzania: An indoor city run by kids.

Located in Westfield London Shopping Centre, and designed for children aged 4-14, KidZania provides an environment for kids to step into real life roles - everything from a Doctor, to a Police Officer, a Dentist and so much more! My kids love going to Kidzania and then after Kidzania we walk round window shopping! My favourite part! And finally, my kids get to pick out a restaurant for us to eat in! For a days trip, Kidzania is pretty cool!

6. See hundreds of creatures on display at Drusillas Park aka Europe's best small zoo

7. Let their imagination run wild at the Discover Children's Story Centre

8. Take pictures with the rich and famous at wax figure museum Madame Tussauds.

Lots of free places to visit to! You can watch the Changing Guard Ceremony outside Buckingham Palace, watch the Tower Bridge open from the bank of the River Thames or hire a rowing boat on the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park.

There are loads of fun activities and places to take your kids to this half term! Discover more fun activities and family friendly restaurants your kids would love!

Warm Wishes,
